DupWiz (“we”, “us”) provides duplicate-file software for Windows. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our website at dupwiz.com and our desktop application.
Desktop application (local-first)
- Scanning, hashing, and file comparison run on your computer. We do not upload your files or folder contents to our servers.
- Settings, scan logs, and backups are stored locally on your device (or in a portable folder you choose).
- Pro license activation may contact our payment provider or license servers over HTTPS using a license key you enter; no file data is sent.
Website
- We may collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and operations.
- The public marketing site does not use advertising trackers. The admin gallery area uses a session cookie for authentication.
- Language preference may be stored in your browser’s
localStorage.
Payments
Purchases of DupWiz Pro are processed by Creem (merchant of record). Payment data (card details, billing address) is collected and processed by Creem according to their privacy policy. We receive order confirmation and license-related information needed to fulfill your purchase.
How we use information
- Provide downloads, licenses, and customer support
- Improve the product and fix errors
- Comply with legal obligations
Retention
Server logs are retained for a limited period appropriate for security and troubleshooting. Local application data remains on your device until you remove it.
